Tiger's Wood Challenge
On 10th July 2000, golfing history was made at Limerick Golf Club when Tiger Woods, competing in the 3rd J.P. McManus Invitational Pro-Am, produced a truly remarkable recovery shot from behind trees on the 9th hole — setting up a memorable birdie. A plaque was placed on the spot to commemorate this feat and the 9th hole was named in his honour – 'Tiger's Wood'.
All visitors to Limerick Golf Club will have the unique opportunity to test your skill against one of the greatest golfers of all time by attempting the same shot. Take on the challenge of the iconic 9th hole and attempt to get down in two to make birdie — from the very same spot Tiger played that legendary shot.
International visitors will be invited to take part in this challenge, which is included in the green fee, and receive a commemorative golf ball as a memento of their visit to Limerick Golf Club and 'Tiger's Wood'.
