JUNIOR BOYS
Junior golf continues on Saturday morning.
Attendences have been over 50 for the last few weeks so its very important
to arrive in plenty of time. The FRED DALY team play Nenagh in Rathbane next
Sunday afternoon and all junior members are encouraged to come along and
support your team.

JUNIOR GIRLS
Golf on Saturday 19th May ONLY for girls who wish to
play 18holes. If you are interested please text Maria before Friday and you
will need to be at the golf club at 10.30am. There will be no golf Saturday
afternoon.

Saturday 2nd June - Shotgun start at 3pm with BBQ and
Presentation of prizes to follow afterwards.

TOMMY MORRIS TROPHY RESCHEDULED
Competition Diary Change: The Tommy Morris Parent and
Child competition scheduled for Saturday May 26th 2012 will now be played on
Saturday September 8th 2012.

LADIES PRIZE GIVING
There will be a prize giving on Tuesday next 15th May
after the Lady Vice Captain Ann O'Sullivan's day. Prize giving will be at
9.30pm. If you have a prize to collect and cannot collect it please nominate
someone to collect for you.
SENIOR CUP
Our Senior Cup ladies (handicap 0 - 12) will play Round 1
of the Senior Cup against Lahinch Golf Club in Kinsale Golf Club next
Saturday 12th May at 9.30am. The winners will play Round 2 in the afternoon
with the Final on Sunday morning. We wish our ladies all the best.

JUNIOR GIRLS
Golf this Saturday starting at 4.30pm. PENNY's
Competition for both 18holes and 9holes. This week's format will be a team
of three (2 scores to count on each hole). Lessons will start this Saturday.
There will be a list on teamer from Friday, so watch out for it. In order to
get the best out of the lesson, the girls will be broken into small groups
over the next few weeks. Only ten girls will have a lesson each Saturday and
the lesson will take place 30 minutes before the usual Junior time on
Saturday afternoons. The 18hole competition will take place between 10.30
and 11am so please send Maria a text if interested in playing during this
time. Thank you to Aiobhin and Grace Maher who gave their time on Monday
running the putting competition for the Parkinson's Foundation.

Junior Golf will recommence next Saturday. Please be in
attendance before 9.30am. There will be coaching for the Fred Daly panel at
9am. All members of the panel are expected to attend.

MIXED FOURSOMES
Lena and Noel Sexton will run the Mixed Foursomes again
this year. It will begin on Friday 11th May at 6.30pm with a shotgun start
(starting a week earlier than in the diary). Time sheet will be in Pro shop
next week. We ask for your support.

LADIES INTER-CLUB MATCHES
We had a very successful day for the first round of Inter
Club competitions. We fielded four teams: Junior, Intermediate, Minor and
Challenge. We had three wins and the Minor Team were very unfortunate to
lose to an experienced Nenagh team. There was very little between the two
teams and we ran them close to the end.
SECOND ROUND OF MATCHES
The second round of matches will be held in Newcastlewest
Golf Club on Saturday 26th May 2012.
The Junior team (handicap 9 to 15) are out at 10.45am.
The Intermediate Team (16 to 22) start out at 12.15pm and
the Challenge Team (30 to 36) play at 2.30pm.
We look forward to as much support as possible as there
is no doubt it makes a big difference on the day. Best of luck to all
concerned.

LIFEBOAT SINGLES - TO BE RESCHEDULED
It was a busy week on the course last weekend.
Unfortunately the weather closed the course on Monday afternoon, with the
Lifeboat Singles losing out. Please keep an eye on the calendar for another
date in the near future.

ST PATRICK'S
WEEKEND GOLF AND SOCIAL EVENT
The timesheet is open for two shotgun starts - 9.45am and
2pm. The format will be a Semi-Open Team event with 2 scores to count. Entry
will be E15 for members and E25 for guests. A two course meal will be
provided after each session. Presentation of prizes will take place during
half time of the Ireland v England match. After the match, music will be
provided by Willie Browne. Junior members may play when accompanied by an
adult.

REMEDIAL COURSE WORK
The course staff have
identfied some remedial work that can be completed at this stage of the
year. For the immediate future, we will only have 13 holes available for
golf. This will have a two fold effect - it will allow the staff the
oppurtunity to work on areas of the course that need attention and also
allow these holes time to recover before we are back in the main golfing
season. This work is necessary in order to have the course at its best for
the coming season. Members will appreciate the importance of this work and
will reap the benefits later on this year.

JUNIOR GIRLS
Junior Girls' Golf Programme 2012Junior golf for girls
will be starting up again from 28th January with a 6-week coaching
programme. The programme will be run on Saturday afternoons. All abilities
will be catered for from beginners to girls with handicaps. New girls are
welcome (age 8-17) to come along to experience what fun golf can be. The
programme will include coaching provided by PGA professionals with food
afterwards.
Coaching Programme dates are as follows:
28th Jan,
4th, 11th & 25th Feb,
3rd & 10th March.
Cost Euro30.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are essential for any coaching programme to be
successful. The volunteers will have a vital role in assisting the coaches
and ensuring the safety of the juniors at all times during the sessions.
Every Saturday, 4-5 volunteers are required, so if you are free for one of
the Saturdays for two hours, your help would be very much appreciated. If
